All of our language courses in 19 countries have celebrated Christmas together over the past few days - including in Vietnam, as shown here in the picture. Although the country is Buddhist and the Christian festival is not celebrated, Western Christmas traditions are so well known that restaurants, for example, decorate for Christmas. These nurses, who recently completed their Bachelor's degree in Nursing, have been learning German since fall 2023. They are expected to have their B2 certificates in November 2024. Then a new exciting step awaits them: entering Germany.
In Vietnam, we are represented in the cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Our cooperation partners are Hanoi Medical University, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy and University of Medicine and Pharmacy Ho Chi Minh City. Our relationships with Vietnam are well established: Back in 2016, we brought the first specialists from there for professional recognition.
Today, Vietnamese nurses who have come to Germany with our program work in Düsseldorf, the Rhine-Main region, Baden-Württemberg and Schleswig-Holstein, among other places.
In September 2023, Professor Dr. Van Chinh Nguyen from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh City visited Germany to see for himself that the graduates of his degree course, who came to Germany to work for employers with our support, are treated fairly and feel comfortable here. The first of them have already completed further training to become ward managers, intensive care nurses or nursing educators.
We are currently putting together further courses that will start learning German in February 2024. Our German courses for candidates from Asia last ten months - three months longer than for talents from other continents. This has proven its worth. Because pronunciation, characters, grammar - it's all so different that learning simply takes time. We wish you every success!
