Juan Camilo Rodríguez
Academic Lead
Teacher of German as a Foreign Language

How Juan Camilo Rodríguez helps TalentOrange move forward:
Juan Camilo is a teacher of German as a foreign language and also the Academic Lead at our TalentOrange language school in Bogotá, Colombia. In this role, he contributes his expertise and experience not only in the classroom but also at an organisational level—continuously improving teaching quality. He ensures that our Colombian talents—including educators, surgical assistant and nurses—successfully learn German. Because he learned German as a foreign language himself, he can relate well to the challenges they face when learning. With his patient, friendly and open manner, he is a valued mentor and peer who is always receptive to other opinions and suggestions.
His path to TalentOrange:
Juan Camilo has always been interested in other cultures, languages and people. As early as age 15, he realised that he wanted to work as a teacher. Back then, he taught his classmates English and French. He went on to study Philology and German as a foreign language at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. After completing his studies in 2019, he fulfilled his dream and began working as a German teacher at the “Haus der Jugend” in Bogotá. He taught both children and adults at levels A1 to B2, ran a conversation club, and supported learners in preparing for the Goethe exam and the ÖSD (Austrian German Language Diploma). Eventually, he found his way to TalentOrange—initially as a tutor.
His hidden talent:
Book hunter. Whenever he travels to another country, he tries to bring a book back home from there. His collection includes books in Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Latin and, of course, German. He has a particular appreciation for works on history, geography and philosophy—and he especially values Nietzsche.
