Juan Camilo is a teacher of German as a foreign language and also the head of academics at our TalentOrange Language School in Bogotá, Colombia, which allows him to contribute his knowledge and experience not only in teaching but also on an organizational level, continuously improving the quality of instruction. He ensures that our Colombian talents - including educators, OTAs and nurses - learn German successfully. Having learned German as a foreign language himself, he is able to respond well to their learning difficulties. With his patient, friendly and open manner, he is a valued mentor at eye level who is always open to other opinions and suggestions.
Juan Camilo has always been interested in foreign cultures, languages and people. He realized at the age of 15 that he wanted to work as a teacher one day. Back then, he taught his schoolmates English and French. He ended up studying philology and German as a foreign language at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. After completing his studies in 2019, he realized his dream and started working as a German teacher at the "House of Youth" in Bogotá. He taught both children and adults at levels A1 to B2, ran a conversation club and helped learners prepare for the Goethe exam and the ÖSD (Austrian German Language Diploma). He eventually found his way to TalentOrange, initially as a tutor.
Book hunter. Whenever he travels to another country, he tries to take a book home with him. His collection includes books in Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Latin and, of course, German. Works on history, geography and philosophy are particularly important to him - he especially appreciates Nietzsche.
