Johanna Altvater

Corporate Communications Officer

How Johanna Altvater helps move TalentOrange forward:

Johanna coordinates the activities of Bundesverband internationale Fachkräftegewinnung e.V. and supports the Communications and Marketing team at TalentOrange. She writes and edits articles and is responsible for the website’s content management as well as print materials. In addition, she supports public relations and builds contacts with authorities and policymakers.

Her path to TalentOrange:

International experience has shaped Johanna’s career path: a childhood in Buenos Aires, a student exchange in Canada, a Master’s degree in London, and a family stay in Santiago de Chile. Professionally, she gained valuable experience, including at the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., and at the German Chamber of Commerce Abroad in Abu Dhabi. After completing her studies, she worked as the District Administrator’s Personal Advisor at the District Office of Lörrach, and during her studies she worked at institutions such as the Chair of Ethics at the University of Erlangen, the Fraunhofer Institute, and the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. Her academic background includes a B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies and Political Science, an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies with a focus on Political Science, as well as an M.Sc. in Middle East Politics.

Her hidden talent:

Multitasking is her superpower— as the mother of three young children, she always keeps track of everything. Patience, helpfulness, and a keen sense of order are among her strengths. She has played the piano since childhood, loves drawing, and—preferably with her family—enjoys discovering new places off the beaten track.
