Opening of our language school in Bogotá

On 7 February 2023, we officially opened our new language school in Bogotá with 60 guests. Four classrooms, a teachers' room, a lounge and a small garden offer us the opportunity to educate young people in pleasant surroundings. Our German as a Foreign Language teachers Laura, Daniel and Juan Camilo teach motivated nurses and educators who would like to work in Germany in the future.

Our talented students have already passed their bachelor's degree in nursing or education. Most of them also have professional experience. In an intensive course lasting seven months, we now guide them to the B2 language certificate. This is necessary so that their degree can be recognised in Germany. To ensure good communication with patients, colleagues or the day-care children, there is individual pronunciation training. Tutoring is available for those who want to repeat the material more often. We are constantly developing our teaching methods. The latest findings from language learning research help us to do this. For example, we are currently revising our app for practising hospital terminology.

Luz Dana Leal, director of the Colombian "Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje" (SENA, National Employment and Training Service), two representatives of the Goethe-Institut in Bogotá, David Graaff, the language school director of the Humboldt-Institut in Medellín, the president of the "Colegio de instrumentadores" as well as a lecturer for English from the Uni Pedagogica Nacional came to the opening ceremony. The deputy director of nursing at the University Hospital Düsseldorf and two of her colleagues from the human resources department were also there. The delegation from the UKD was in Bogotá to conduct interviews with medical professionals.

Luz Dana Leal from SENA emphasised how important our work is for the future of young Colombians. Putting a lot of effort into language training and creating good conditions for it is particularly important to us. After all, language is the key to our talented young people getting along well in Germany later on - both at work and in their private lives.

We celebrated this wonderful occasion with champagne, wine and canapés. A milestone for TalentOrange! We are currently planning further subsidiaries in other countries.
