High number of applications for recognition in Germany from healthcare professionals

1,200 official recognitions of the professional title in Germany

Great number of talents successfully passed their test of qualification recognition measure in 2021

Depending on the requirements of the qualification test of every international professional from so-called third countries  – determined by the respective notice of deficit – a recognition course with a final knowledge test can last up to twelve months.

TalentOrange program participants often master this path in less than half a year. Some talents even pass their knowledge test four months after starting their job in Germany.

Even after ten years and more than 1,200 accompanied recognitions of the professional title in Germany, every new photo that shows one of the Talents supported by the company with the official certificate of recognition is a reason to celebrate.

The joy becomes visible on the TalentOrange social media channels, too: Nurses, surgical assistants, midwives and educators share the achievement of their goals with the community of international specialists in Germany. Because happiness is known to double when you share it!

More information:

In the recognition procedure, an equivalency test is carried out with regard to the existing nursing formation and the German nursing formation, in which the foreign qualification is compared with the corresponding German qualification.
As a result, an application for recognition can only be made if you have a professional qualification acquired abroad in the required field of healthcare.

Not least since the introduction of the Skilled Workers Immigration Act (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz – FEG) which came into force in March 2020, official recognition of professional qualifications has been a prerequisite for being able to practice the respective federal profession in Germany. The number of applications for federal professions (including nursing professionals) in 2020 was 8 percent higher than the number of applications in 2018 - despite the corona crisis, which led and continues to lead to additional hurdles and process impairments at home and abroad, e.g. in the preparation of recognition and the possibility of entry/arrival in Germany.
