First nursing staff from Myanmar start in Germany

It's a big step into a new life: In October 2024, the first of our nurses from Myanmar arrived in Germany - a significant milestone for both the talent and TalentOrange. The recruitment of nurses from Myanmar is only just beginning. Other talents are currently still attending language courses at TalentOrange's partner school in Myanmar. Suitable employers in Germany are still being sought for some of them.

Myanmar is a country with a very young population. Around a quarter of the population is under 15 years old, but despite good training prospects, it is difficult for qualified nurses with a four-year degree to find suitable employment. In many cases, the economic situation and the healthcare system do not offer sufficient opportunities to retain talent locally. The six nurses who recently arrived in Germany decided a year ago to change this situation. They began an intensive German course in Myanmar and, with a B2 language certificate in their pockets, are now ready to take off in their professional field in Germany. The fact that they have taken this path so quickly and purposefully is testament to their determination and courage.

But their journey does not end there. The next step for the nursing staff is the four-week knowledge test course offered by the TalentOrange nursing school in presence. For this course, the educators travel directly to the Lahn-Dill clinics to prepare the talents for their exam in the best possible way. This examination is an important milestone, as it enables the talented individuals to have the qualifications they acquired in their home country recognized in Germany. The secret of this course's success lies in the combination of full-time training and supplementary tuition in specialist nursing language. This not only deepens professional knowledge, but also raises language skills to the level required to work successfully in the German healthcare system. The figures show that this concept works: More than 95% of course participants pass the exam and are able to successfully continue their professional careers in Germany.

The recruitment and integration of international specialists is of great importance to the German healthcare system. The shortage of skilled nursing staff is a well-known problem that can be alleviated by recruiting qualified staff from abroad. TalentOrange manages to close the gap between supply and demand and offers young people from countries such as Myanmar the chance to find a professional perspective in Germany. For talented people from Myanmar, this opportunity not only means a secure income, but also the chance to make full use of their skills and work in an environment that values and promotes their qualifications. Looking to the future

The first nurses from Myanmar have already arrived in Germany, and many more will follow. With a structured integration process that offers both linguistic and professional support, TalentOrange shows how international recruitment leads to success.

TalentOrange and its partners, such as the Lahn-Dill clinics, make it possible for talented nurses from all over the world to find a professional home in Germany - a win-win situation for both sides. The success story that began with the talents from Myanmar will undoubtedly have many more chapters to write. We look forward to continuing to accompany the journey of the nurses and are convinced of this: With this concept, many more talents will make the leap into a new life.
